Case Studies At Intersect Surveys: From Popular Pubs To Highway Redesign

At Intersect Surveys, we understand that the foundation of any successful property development project lies in the accuracy and detail of the initial surveys.

Our recent projects, including the comprehensive survey for The Quayside Wetherspoons, highlight how our approach to surveying ensures precise planning and execution.

Let’s dive into how these surveys have driven success in three key projects.

The Quayside Wetherspoons

Located along the scenic waterfront, The Quayside Wetherspoons is a property that demanded the highest level of detail in its surveying process.

Our team conducted an all-encompassing Topographical Survey, mapping every feature within the specified area, from building outlines and utility services to the precise spot levels that capture changes in gradient.

In addition to the topographical work, we performed an Underground Utility Survey using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to map all utilities with pinpoint accuracy. The final deliverables, including 2D AutoCAD and PDF formats, provided the client with a solid foundation for further planning and development.

The success of this project was further ensured through our Measured Building Survey, which provided detailed floor plans, elevations, and cross-sections.

Highway Redesign In Tunbridge Wells

Our second case study focuses on the topographical and underground utility surveys we conducted for a major highway redesign in Tunbridge Wells. The project required a detailed Topographical Survey to capture all features within the survey area, including building outlines, kerbs, footways, changes in surface materials, and utility services.

The combination of topographical and underground utility surveys, aligned with the OS Network using RTK GNSS, provided the project team with the essential data needed to proceed with precision, helping to lay the groundwork for this busy environment.

Hastings Town Centre

Our third case study takes us to the heart of Hastings town centre, a vibrant and busy area requiring a strategic approach to minimise disruptions during surveying. Understanding the importance of keeping the town's daily activities uninterrupted, we scheduled the bulk of our operations during nighttime hours. This approach ensured minimal interference with the daytime hustle, while allowing for critical topographical assessments in daylight to ensure accuracy and detail.

Although specific Traffic Management (TM) was not necessary, we maintained a proactive stance by assigning a dedicated team member to oversee equipment and support surveyors, ensuring smooth operations throughout. By blending nighttime precision with daytime flexibility and employing cutting-edge survey techniques, we delivered an efficient and seamless project execution in one of the town’s most active areas.

Whether it’s a landmark location or a bustling town centre, our commitment to delivering top-quality survey services remains unwavering.

We are proud to be a trusted partner in transforming spaces and driving the success of our clients' projects.
